Default Stop-motion program

Sup guise. My gf is looking to make some stop motion films, and wants to know what a good program would be. Not looking for some trash gif animator, something decent.

Well I don't think there is a trash stopmotion software program. I ain't a pro at this but I'll give you the knowledge I do got, and I hope it's correct Stop-motion is about taking pictures from a scene and putting those pictures behind eachother. So all you need to make a stop-motion animation is a steady camera and aprox 12-24 pictures for each second of film you want to make. I don't think there are any 'good' stop-motion programmes, but I guess you could use JPGVideo or Monkeyjam. If you really want to go for something more advance in a way to make some rocking Wallace and Gromit like video's, I believe they used Stop Motion Pro. Boinx iStopmotion Pro would be a great pick aswell (Mac only though): http://www.boinx.com/istopmotion/overview/pro/

Just google 'm and see if you fall in love

EDIT: Btw we do want to see some results!

I agree with Tommy's -

All you need is a steady cam & a decent editing program, for which I recommend Sony Vegas.

And indeed, we want to see some results!

PS: If it's Guild Wars related, you might want to check out some of the Guild Wars stop-motion videos, your gf might find some inspiration

I never did stop motion video but it looks interesting. I would simply make it using a good capture source, either a good webcam or fraps depending on source. First make up a plan on how I want the finished product will be, capture a scene and remove all unwanted frames in between using any simple video editor. VirtualDub is easy to use, it's free and you can add various filters to the finished product and save it as xvid, divx or similar. Oh, and I would use highest possible resolution, and resize the finished video after (keeping the master video of course)
